Qualifications

• . Licensed podiatrist (DPM) or MD/DO with podiatric scope and NY license.
• . Graduation from an accredited podiatric school; residency preferred.
• . Experience in SNF/LTC or post-acute care preferred.
• . Ability to perform podiatric procedures and manage foot/ankle conditions.
• . DEA registration if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site podiatry consultations in SNF/LTC settings.
• Diagnose and manage foot and ankle disorders including diabetic foot disease, ulcers, infections, and nail pathology.
• Perform podiatric procedures including nail debridement, callus care, wound debridement, and minor surgical procedures as indicated.
• Evaluate gait abnormalities, biomechanical issues, and deformities impacting mobility and fall risk.
• Collaborate with nursing, wound care teams, therapy, and primary providers to prevent complications.
• Educate residents and caregivers on foot hygiene, preventive care, and footwear recommendations.
• Ensure accurate, timely, and regulatory-compliant documentation in EMR systems.
