Job summary

QuEra Computing, Inc. is seeking a Photonics Data Engineer Intern for Fall 2026 to build an AI-powered data infrastructure for photonic IC design, fabrication, and testing.

You will develop tools to transform raw measurement data into actionable insights that inform chip design and process improvements. The role emphasizes Python-driven automation, cross-functional collaboration with photonics engineers, and documentation for long-term use.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in CS, Physics, Mathematics, or related field.
  • Strong Python programming and experience with AI/data science libraries (PyTorch, NumPy, SciPy, Pandas).
  • Experience with data ingestion, cleaning, and automation across data sources.

Responsibilities

  • Develop an AI-powered data infrastructure for photonic IC design, fabrication, and testing workflows.
  • Write Python utilities to automate data ingestion and organization across data sources.
  • Build pipelines to extract device performance metrics (insertion loss, extinction ratio, bandwidth, yield).
  • Analyze metrology datasets from multiple foundries to relate process to device performance.
  • Document data infrastructure and analysis workflows for team use.
