Job summary

Evernorth Workplace Care in Kissimmee, FL, is hiring a Medical Assistant to support providers in the health centers both in person and virtually. The role includes front/back-office duties, patient prep, vitals, administering medications, and coordinating care.

The ideal candidate has an approved MA program or CCMA on-the-job training, BCLS, and at least 1 year of experience, with strong EHR skills and customer service. Full-time, on-site with benefits and scheduling flexibility.

Qualifications

• Graduate of approved MA program OR on-the-job training with CCMA prior to hire.
• Current BCLS required.
• At least 1 year of front and back-office experience.
• Phlebotomy skills.
• Solid Computer skills including Electronic Health Records.
• Excellent customer service skills required.

Responsibilities

• Greet and check in patients at health care centers and verify coverage and eligibility.
• Obtain patient history, take vital signs, and assist with coordination of care.
• Administer medications.
• Prepare examination rooms and maintain readiness of supplies and equipment.
• Sterilize instruments per protocol and answer calls per procedures.
• Schedule patient appointments and verify membership/coverage.
• Attend staff meetings and in-service training.
• Cross train to support new procedures and departments.
• Assist in orienting new staff; support back-office functions (vitals, immunizations, injections, POCT, labs).
