Job summary

CLFC Healthcare and Communications is expanding its interpreter network into the Willamette Valley and seeks a qualified interpreter to support scheduled medical appointments at an Indian Health Service health center in Salem, Oregon. This is in-person work with the patient and provider to interpret diagnoses, treatment options, and care questions.

The role is part-time with two to three appointments weekly, confirmed at least 72 hours in advance, offering steady, well-paid assignments alongside

Qualifications

• National certification as an ASL interpreter (RID NIC, CI/CT, NAD III–V, or BEI Advanced/Master).
• Oregon Medical Sign Language Interpreter license or eligibility to obtain it before first assignment.
• Demonstrated experience interpreting in medical or healthcare settings.
• Fluency in American Sign Language and English with accurate, impartial interpretation.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site medical interpretation during outpatient appointments in Salem, Oregon.
• Interpret diagnoses, treatment options, medications, and follow-up plans.
• Maintain accuracy and impartiality; interpret in-person with patient and provider.
