Job summary

Comfort Systems USA seeks a skilled Mechanic to support mechanical service and retrofit work, including sheet metal modifications, piping tasks, valve changes, and LOTO procedures. The role operates in mechanical rooms, rooftops, and active job sites with emphasis on safety, proper torque, and quality workmanship.

Applicants should be capable of reading drawings and specs, communicating progress to supervision, and traveling to construction sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in mechanical service, piping, HVAC or industrial maintenance.
• Working knowledge of flanges, gaskets, valves and mechanical connections.
• Experience with torque tools and proper tool use.

Responsibilities

• Perform sheet metal modification/installation to support equipment and duct interfaces.
• Remove and replace pipe gaskets; prepare flange faces and ensure proper seal surfaces.
• Replace chiller valves (isolation, removal/replacement, reassembly, checks).
• Install flanged pipe couplings and torque to spec with documented requirements.
• Execute Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) per procedure and verify zero-energy state.
