Job summary

Midea America Corp. is seeking a Product Development Engineer to define and validate laundry product specs for the North American market, working with the China-based R&D team across the full product lifecycle.

You will translate consumer insights into measurable engineering requirements, ensure NA standards compliance, and support prototypes, test benches, and automated data analysis in a fast-paced, global team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field.
• 3–6 years of product engineering or development experience.
• Hybrid engineering foundation across mechanical, electrical and electronics.
• Hands-on lab skills to build and operate test benches.
• Basic programming in C++ or Python for test data and control scripts.
• Knowledge of North American home appliance standards and regulations.
• Strong written and verbal communication for global teams.

Responsibilities

• Define and validate new laundry product specs for North America.
• Translate consumer habits into concrete engineering requirements.
• Maintain knowledge of relevant North American standards for appliances.
• Communicate requirements to R&D teams in China.
• Support R&D through concept, design, verification, validation and launch.
• Perform root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Support field tests including logistics and data analysis.
• Verify prototypes meet specifications through testing.
• Set up automated lab test benches and data-acquisition scripts.
• Contribute to future product improvement concepts.
