Job summary

VA New York Harbor Healthcare System, Brooklyn Campus, seeks a Board Certified/Board Eligible Interventional Radiologist for on-site coverage at Brooklyn VA Medical Center. The role focuses on the full range of image-guided procedures and requires close coordination with VA staff, residents, and referring clinicians.

Clinical duties include angiography, biopsies, and vascular interventions with emphasis on direct patient care.

Qualifications

• Current license to practice medicine in any US state/territory/DC.
• Board Certification in Radiology with interventional focus per ABR/ACR guidelines.
• Successful VA credentialing and privileging before providing care.
• Active DEA registration and National Provider Identifier (NPI).
• Fluent spoken and written English.
• Compliance with HIPAA, Privacy Act, and VA confidentiality rules.

Responsibilities

• Perform angiography, embolization, ablation, drain placements, and other IR procedures.
• Coordinate care with referring clinicians, VA residents, and hospital staff.
• Review consults and patient cases for minimum two hours daily.
• Provide post-procedure evaluation, follow-up, and management of complications.
• Ensure timely, accurate communication of results to providers and patients.
• Document care in VA EHR and maintain compliance with applicable regulations.
