Job summary

Mechanics Bank is seeking an Information Security Analyst to join our team on-site in California. You will collaborate with multiple departments to ensure policy compliance and assist security engineering on security projects, while leading research on threats and remediation techniques.

You will perform Tier 1 security event analysis and incident response (IDS/IPS), support the development of standards, and monitor alerts from MSPs and internal tools. Travel up to 10% is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred; experience may substitute
• 1 year of experience as Security/SOC Analyst or similar role
• Industry certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CISSP, CCNA, CEH preferred
• Strong technical skills with Microsoft Office and common security tools
• Threat analysis and incident response: interpret events and analyze network traffic
• Knowledge of current IT security technologies and threats
• Excellent communication skills, oral and written, with senior management
• Ability to troubleshoot accessibility issues and work in a customer-service setting

Responsibilities

• Lead security research on threats and remediation techniques; oversee implementation
• Tier 1 security event analysis and incident response (IDS/IPS) and forensics
• Support development and maintenance of security standards and procedures
• Proactively monitor alerts from MSPs and in-house tools; investigate incidents
• Communicate findings and risks to senior management
• Travel 0–10% for on-site responsibilities
