Job summary

PartsSource is seeking a Biomedical Technician for an on-site role at a Chicago healthcare facility. You will inspect, maintain, repair, and document medical imaging and biomedical equipment within our hospital service team, ensuring safety, compliance, and operational readiness.

You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance, document findings in the CMMS, and collaborate with clinical staff to minimize downtime while upholding regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in biomedical equipment maintenance, medical imaging service, or clinical engineering in a hospital setting.
• Associate’s degree or higher in Biomedical Equipment Technology, Electronics, or related field; military/OEM training acceptable.
• AAMI CBET, CRES or CEIS certification preferred; actively pursuing ok.
• OEM service training on GE, Siemens, Philips, Hologic, Mindray, Welch Allyn or equivalent is a plus.
• Experience with CMMS (TMS, Connectiv, ServiceMax) for work orders and asset docs.
• Familiarity with TJC, ACR, NFPA 99, CMS Conditions of Participation.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on medical imaging and biomedical equipment as per OEM procedures and PartsSource standards.
• Complete PM steps, calibrations, safety checks with proper data in the work orders.
• Document measurements and replacements with actual values, not just pass/fail.
• Communicate findings to facility contact and Field Manager before leaving site.
• Perform corrective maintenance and system troubleshooting to restore equipment.
• Escalate when repairs exceed capability or pose safety concerns; obtain manager sign-off.
• Verify repairs with functional testing before returning equipment to service.
• Maintain CMMS records within 24 hours of job close with details and signatures.
• Adhere to hospital infection control, radiation safety, electrical safety, OSHA rules; ensure credentialing is current.
• Identify non-conformances and contribute to CAP improvements.
