Job summary

UF Health is seeking an Athletic Trainer to provide on-site services at area high schools, traveling to practices and events under physician supervision. The role includes immediate care, evaluation, and rehabilitation of student athletes, with documentation and collaboration with coaches and families.

Required education includes a bachelor’s degree and Florida licensure; BOC certification and basic life support are also required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
• Florida License as Athletic Trainer.
• Board of Certification for the Athletic Trainer.
• BLS or ACLS from American Heart Association.
• Less than one year on-field athletic training experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides effective outreach athletic training services to local high schools including practice coverage and athletic event coverage.
• Practices under the supervision of a physician involved in musculoskeletal care and communicates with medical team.
• Implements emergency and immediate care procedures and triage for student athletes.
• Documents encounters and electronic injury tracking.
• Communicates with student athletes, families, coaches, and administrators; participates in education events.
