Job summary

The State of California's Bureau of Gambling Control seeks Auditors to travel across the state performing on-site evaluations of gambling establishments' financial records. Apply auditing principles, document findings, and support audit programs with clear narratives.

You will interview staff, attend conferences, and communicate with stakeholders by email or phone. Auditors may travel to Tribal lands where gaming operates; strong accounting background and investigative skills are valued

Qualifications

• Educational background in auditing and/or accounting is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of governmental and gaming industry standards and procedures relating to auditing and accounting.
• Investigative concepts and practices; managerial and administrative skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site evaluations of financial records of gambling establishments and Tribal audits.
• Apply auditing principles and document in audit work papers.
• Ensure methodologies align with audit program standards.
• Attend entrance and exit conferences and interview personnel.
• Communicate with internal and external stakeholders via email/phone.
• Utilize computer programs to analyze and organize financial data and draw conclusions.
