Job summary

Aquila in Atlanta, GA is seeking a Fitness Specialist to assist members with safe and effective exercise and perform a wide range of technical and administrative duties in the health/fitness center.

This on-site role requires a B.S. in a related health/fitness field, an NCCA-accredited national fitness certification, CPR certification, and 0–1 year of supervising adults during exercise; benefits include medical, dental, vision, retirement, paid time off, and tuition reimbursement.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Kinesiology or related health/fitness field.
• National fitness certification accredited by NCCA (ACE, NASM, AFAA, ACSM or NSCA) (can be obtained within 90 days of hire).
• Active CPR certification.
• 0–1 year of supervising adults during exercises.

Responsibilities

• Teach group fitness classes.
• Conduct personal training sessions.
• Supervise exercise areas and educate members on safe techniques.
• Perform exercise assessments and prescribe exercise per ACSM guidelines.
• Assess cardiovascular, strength, flexibility, and body composition; interpret data.
• Assist members with spotting and equipment usage; explain equipment.
• Maintain equipment cleanliness and safety; follow policies.
• Attend staff meetings and participate in wellness promotions.
• Perform daily administrative duties.
