Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, chemical engineering, atmospheric science, chemistry, physics, biological sciences, data science, or a related field
  • Experience troubleshooting environmental monitoring systems and instrumentation
  • Education, technical knowledge, and practical experience in environmental science or a related discipline

  • Knowledge of air-quality monitoring technologies including FRM and FEM

Job Description:

  • Experience troubleshooting environmental monitoring systems and instrumentation
  • A combination of education, technical knowledge, and practical experience in environmental science, engineering, atmospheric science, chemistry, physics, or a related scientific discipline
  • Understanding of environmental monitoring sensors and measurement principles
  • Knowledge of air-quality monitoring technologies, including Federal Reference Methods (FRM) and Federal Equivalent Methods (FEM)
  • Familiarity with particulate matter measurement systems, aerosol-generation equipment, gas-generation systems, and related environmental instrumentation
  • Understanding of scientific data-quality concepts, measurement uncertainty, statistical analysis, and error propagation.
  • Knowledge of laboratory operations, sampling methodologies, and experimental procedures
  • Experience using R, Python, MATLAB, or similar programming languages for data processing and analysis
  • Ability to work with large environmental datasets
  • Experience conducting statistical analyses and evaluating data quality and performance metrics
  • Ability to compare, assess, and interpret sensor, FEM, and FRM monitoring data
  • Experience working in laboratory and/or field research environments
  • Familiarity with laboratory safety procedures, gas cylinders, compressed gases, and related safety equipment
  • Experience supporting experimental studies, instrumentation setup and calibration, sample collection, or environmental monitoring activities
  • Ability to prepare technical reports, presentations, scientific documentation, and manuscripts
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary research team

$55,000 - $100,000 a year

ERG offers competitive salaries and excellent benefits, including health and dental insurance, life insurance, long-term disability, educational benefits, FSAs, a generous 401k plan, profit sharing, an EAP, 11-20 paid vacation days per year, 10 paid holidays per year, 56 hours or more of sick leave (based on the state you work in) per year (pro-rated for part-time) and more. The salary range for all positions depends on the years and type of experience.
