Job summary

Galapagos Federal Systems, LLC seeks an Engineering Support Specialist to back active MILCON projects at RAF Mildenhall. You will perform on-site construction observations, QA, and technical reviews, supporting government managers and contractors across the project lifecycle.

The role requires DoD/USAF MILCON knowledge, strong documentation, and the ability to obtain site credentials. Full on-site commitment in the UK with competitive benefits is offered.

Qualifications

• Active Secret Clearance required.
• 7+ years’ experience in construction, engineering, facilities, or MILCON.
• Experience conducting construction observations and QA inspections.
• Experience reviewing drawings, specs, calculations, submittals, RFIs.
• Knowledge of DoD/USAF/MILCON/FSRM programs and processes.
• Working knowledge of civil, structural, architectural, mechanical and electrical engineering principles.
• Experience with project management software (Primavera P6, MS Project).
• Ability to work on-site at RAF Mildenhall, UK.
• Ability to obtain required site credentials (CAC, NIPRNet, etc).

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site construction observations with Government PMs and COR.
• Prepare weekly activity reports, QA docs, site observation reports, and memos.
• Review RFIs, submittals, drawings, specs, and design calculations for technical accuracy.
• Identify constructibility issues, deviations, safety concerns, schedule impacts, and regulatory compliance.
• Conduct facility surveys and condition assessments to support planning and QA.
• Assist with SOWs, IGCEs, project closeout documents, and technical handoffs.
• Maintain project documentation to ensure tracking and reporting.
• Coordinate with Government engineers, architects, planners, and contractors.
• Support QA and construction management to ensure safety, schedule, and budget compliance.
• Provide technical support throughout planning, design, construction, and closeout.
