Job summary

Fidelity Partners seeks a Certified Dental Assistant to join the Federal Correctional Complex Butner Health Services Department in Butner, NC. The role is full-time and on-site, supporting chairside care, radiographs, sterilization, and records management for adults in custody.

Requirements include specialty training or certification, radiology training, CPR certification, and at least two years of experience.

Qualifications

• Specialty training from a licensed dentist or education from an accredited Dental Assistant program.
• Training in dental radiology and radiation safety.
• Current CPR certification (American Red Cross or American Heart Association).
• At least two years of Dental Assistant experience.
• Ability to collect, track, and enter data in electronic records while maintaining confidentiality.
• Must meet health-screening requirements including TB testing.

Responsibilities

• Provide chairside assistance during restorative, surgical, periodontal, prosthetic, and exam procedures.
• Prepare treatment rooms, escort patients, and manage clinic flow.
• Pass instruments and assist with preparing medications and materials.
• Support emergency dental treatment and patient follow-up instructions.
• Maintain accurate dental records and documentation.
• Prepare temporary fillings and manage packs and rubber dams.
• Sterilize instruments, inspect equipment, and report defects.
• Assist with radiographs and minimize exposure; save images to records.
• Take impressions, pour casts, and assist with prostheses as directed.
• Educate patients on dental health and communicate with staff and correctional personnel.
