Job summary

Primoris Energy Services is seeking a Cost Engineer to develop and maintain cost control systems, analyze project costs, and provide accurate financial forecasting for energy service projects in Hubbard, Texas. You will ensure projects stay within budget and meet financial targets.

The role requires 3+ years in cost engineering or project controls, familiarity with ERP systems (SAP/Oracle/EcoSys), and strong Excel skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of cost engineering, cost control, or project controls experience.
  • Experience with cost control software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, EcoSys).
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to translate financial data into insights.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and MS Office.
  • Understanding of project lifecycle, contracting strategies, and project finance.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • PMP or AACE CCP/CCC certifications are a plus.
  • Willingness to work on-site in Hubbard, Texas.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain cost control systems and procedures for energy service projects.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and forecasts for all project phases, from initiation to completion.
  • Monitor project expenditures against budget, identify variances, and provide variance analysis reports.
  • Track and manage project change orders, ensuring proper cost impacts are assessed and incorporated into the budget.
  • Collaborate with project managers, procurement, and other stakeholders to gather cost-related information and ensure accurate cost tracking.
  • Develop and maintain progress measurement systems to track earned value and forecast final project costs.
  • Prepare regular cost reports, cash flow projections, and other financial analyses for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Identify potential cost risks and opportunities, and develop mitigation strategies or cost-saving initiatives.
  • Review contractor invoices and progress payments to ensure accuracy and adherence to contract terms.
  • Assist in the development of project schedules and resource loaded schedules to support cost control efforts.
