Job summary

MCHS Family of Services seeks a Camp Nurse to support health services at our camp. The role involves administering camper medications, providing first aid, and managing illnesses and injuries with timely medical documentation.

You will communicate with parents and counselors, organize medical information and first-aid kits, and ensure regulatory compliance. The position is seasonal and on-site, with requirements for current nursing licensure and AED certification.

Qualifications

• Must have a license as physician, physician's assistant, nurse practitioner, registered nurse, or practical nurse.
• Current Adult & Child APR/AED, or ability to become certified.
• Previous camp or disabled-care experience preferred; ability to think clearly in emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Administer camper medications and provide first aid.
• Manage illnesses and injuries for campers and staff.
• Maintain timely medical documentation and records.
• Communicate with parents and counselors about health needs.
• Organize medical information, medications, and first-aid kits.
• Update Medication Administration Records per physician orders.
• Prepare and inventory first aid kits and infirmary areas.
• Assist with training and ensure compliance with health regulations.
