Job summary

Diversified in New York, NY is seeking an installation technician to perform a wide range of on-site setup for technology projects. You will interpret drawings, install displays, projectors, loudspeakers, microphones, and equipment racks, coordinating with project management and field superintendents.

The role involves cabling, testing terminations, mounting equipment, fiber optic work, and ensuring a clean, safe job site. Travel by car and occasional air travel are typical.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• AVIXA CTS Certification desired.
• 2 years as an associate/fabrication technician or related field.
• Valid driver's license and insurance requirements.
• OSHA 30 certification desired (NYC OSHA30 preferred).
• Other relevant certifications may be required depending on technology focus.

Responsibilities

• Install components and modify on site per project requirements.
• Physically install technology in diverse locations.
• Terminate cabling and test terminations for all wire types.
• Prepare equipment racks for staging and wire management.
• Read functional design drawings and cable/architectural drawings.
• Assist mounting base build equipment like monitors and projectors.
• Maintain schedule with possible overtime as needed.
• Estimate task durations and report daily to PM or Site Superintendent.
• Build and wire custom designs from engineering drawings.
• Handle fiber optic cable installation, termination, testing.
• Label cables and print/correct labels.
• Keep shop and job sites organized and clean.
• Maintain toolkit, vehicles, and inventories; documentation.
• Maintain licenses/certifications per state requirements.
• Record daily time for timesheets.
