Job summary

Mercedes-Benz of Plano is seeking an experienced Automotive Technician to perform a wide range of vehicle repairs in a dealership setting. You will diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, perform routine maintenance, and explain complex repairs to customers with clarity.

The role requires strong diagnostic skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Travel within the service area is expected and safety policies must be followed.

Qualifications

• Two to three years of automotive dealership experience or aftermarket repair facility experience as an Automotive Technician.
• Ability to operate large commercial vehicles daily.
• OEM scan tool and/or aftermarket scan tool experience and knowledge.
• Proficient in identification of faults, error messages and modules.
• Strong automotive mechanical and electrical diagnosis, problem-solving and repair experience.
• High school diploma or GED and valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Independently complete basic to advanced repairs on damaged vehicles, including oil changes, tire rotations, warranty work, wiring, AC diagnostics, suspension, brakes and fuse box repairs.
• Explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to customers and staff clearly on a daily basis.
• Learn to evaluate information and data to interpret electrical components and Advanced Safety Systems (ADAS).
• Test drive or move customer vehicles as needed and keep management informed of repair status.
• Adhere to shop policies, safety rules, and comply with local, state and federal laws.
