Job summary

Asiyah Women’s Center, NYC-based emergency housing nonprofit, is seeking a dynamic video/content creator. You will plan, film, and edit authentic stories that resonate in real time across Instagram, TikTok and YouTube, with a focus on audience growth and meaningful engagement.

You’ll work directly with the Founder to develop original series, conduct street interviews, and produce compelling short-form content that travels well on mobile platforms and in diverse NYC environments.

Qualifications

• You understand what works on TikTok, Instagram and YouTube and can explain why it succeeded.
• You have a strong creative eye for composition, aesthetics and pacing.
• You are comfortable with street interviews and public filming in NYC environments.
• You edit quickly and deliver same-day or next-day cuts when needed.
• You think creatively, not just follow trends, and develop original concepts.
• You plan shoots, bring equipment, and work independently.
• You can tell compelling stories from ordinary moments.
• You manage production schedules and multiple projects with minimal oversight.
• You are NYC-based and willing to travel for shoots and events.

Responsibilities

• Own Asiyah's Instagram, TikTok and emerging platforms from planning to publishing.
• Create recurring video series, pitch ideas and develop formats.
• Film on location, conduct interviews, and capture events and moments.
• Edit footage into engaging videos with strong hooks and pacing.
• Define the visual identity and tone of Asiyah online content.
• Create campaigns around fundraising, events and community milestones.
• Engage with the audience, respond to comments, and collaborate with creators.
• Track views, engagement, growth and donations to inform future content.
