Job Description
Our Client is seeking a highly skilled Structural Auto BodyTechnician to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible forrepairing and restoring vehicles that have sustained structural damage due toaccidents or other incidents. The ideal candidate should have a strongbackground in repairing and rebuilding vehicle frames, aligning frames andsuspension systems, replacing damaged body panels and parts, and usingspecialized tools and equipment.
Responsibilities
- Conducting thorough assessments of structural damageon vehicles to determine the scope of repairs needed.
- Disassembling damaged vehicles to assess the extentof structural damage and identify any hidden damage.
- Repairing and rebuilding vehicle frames to factoryspecifications using specialized tools and techniques.
- Aligning frames and suspension systems to ensureproper vehicle handling and safety.
- Replacing damaged body panels and parts with new orused parts, depending on the customer's preference and budget.
- Utilizing specialized welding techniques to repairdamaged metal parts, including MIG, TIG, and resistance welding.
- Utilizing computerized measuring systems to ensureproper alignment and repairs.
- Communicating effectively with team members andcustomers to ensure clear understanding of repair needs and timelines.
- Maintaining a clean and organized work area andadhering to safety guidelines and procedures at all times.
- Keeping up-to-date with the latest automotivetechnology and repair techniques.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in auto body repair,with an emphasis on structural repairs.
- Knowledge of welding techniques and use ofspecialized tools and equipment.
- Experience in frame and suspension alignment.
- Ability to read and interpret repair orders andtechnical manuals.
- Attention to detail and quality workmanship.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Relevant certification(s) such as ASE StructuralTechnician or I-CAR Gold Class certification is preferred.
- Experience utilizing Car-O-Liner, Chief, Genesis, orCelette highly preferred
Physical Demands
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to bend, stoop, and reach overhead.
