Job summary

Snap Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Specs Security team to design, build, and harden on-device security systems for Specs and Snap OS.

You will implement permissions, access control, secure IPC, and trusted execution boundaries while advancing security for on-device AI features and data handling. You will contribute to research, design, and implementation of security features across firmware, services, and cloud-connected surfaces, and improve fuzzing, testing, and validation

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in a technical field.
• 2+ years building security for Linux-based, embedded, wearable, or connected devices.
• Experience with cryptography, authentication, authorization, secure communications, and threat modeling.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and harden on-device security systems for Specs, including permissions, access control, secure IPC, sandboxing, and trusted execution boundaries.
• Develop security and privacy controls for on-device AI features, including model integrity and inference-time privacy protections.
• Research and implement security features to improve the security posture across Snap OS, firmware, and device surfaces.
• Improve fuzzing infrastructure, automated security testing, and validation pipelines for OS components, IPC, parsers, services, drivers, firmware, and AI data flows.
