University of Wyoming is seeking a PRN Radiology Technician to perform diagnostic radiographic procedures at the Wyoming Family Practice on campus in Casper, WY. The role requires careful patient communication, image quality assessment, and strict radiation safety adherence.

Applicants should have an accredited Radiologic Technology background with 2+ years of technologist experience, and familiarity with digital radiography and PACS/RIS.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Two or more years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist.
• Experience with digital radiography and PACS/RIS systems.
• Experience with electronic health records, preferably Athenahealth or similar systems.

Responsabilités

• Perform routine diagnostic radiographic examinations in accordance with physician orders and established protocols.
• Verify patient identity, examination orders, and relevant clinical information prior to imaging.
• Explain procedures to patients and provide appropriate instructions to ensure their understanding and comfort.
• Properly position patients and operate radiographic equipment to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
• Apply appropriate radiation safety principles and techniques to minimize radiation exposure to patients, staff, and self.
• Evaluate images for technical quality and obtain additional images when appropriate and within established protocols.
• Maintain accurate and complete documentation related to radiologic procedures and patient care.
• Enter and document imaging information accurately within the electronic health record and/or imaging system.
• Maintain equipment and report equipment malfunctions, safety concerns, or maintenance needs promptly.
• Follow infection prevention and control procedures, including appropriate cleaning and disinfection of equipment and work areas.

Formation

Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.

Two or more years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist.
