Liberty University is seeking a Graduate Student Assistant to work on campus in an academic support role. Duties include assisting in class-related functions, grading, scheduling, emailing, and lecturing as assigned, with a maximum 20 hours per week.

The GA will work under the Dean, Department Chair, or Professor, attend orientations, maintain regular office hours, and ensure compliance with university policies. Prior teaching experience and living locally are preferred.

Qualificações

• Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) from a four-year college or university preferred.
• Must be accepted into, or currently enrolled in a master’s or doctorate program by the start date.
• Preferred Qualifications: Enrolled in a master’s or doctorate program and have previous teaching experience.
• Experience using Microsoft Office.
• Ability to attain an understanding of all technical systems that support the role of being a GSA.
• Must live in the local area in order to report to work on campus.

Responsabilidades

• Assist in a support role for the assigned professor in class related functions.
• Assist and conduct research under the direction of a supervisor in relation to the department’s goals or needs, as approved by the Academic Administration and The Graduate School.
• Create and edit PowerPoint, Excel, or Word documents.
• Track Attendance using Top-Hat and post in Canvas.
• Administer/proctor exams and monitor students during exams; manage Top-Hat or Canvas tools.
• Grade quizzes/tests/exams and written assignments within university timeframes.
• Communicate with students via email/Canvas regarding absences, attendance issues, meetings and course questions within timeframes.
• Provide academic accommodations to students under the Office of Disability Accommodation Support as directed, via Testing Center or Canvas modifications.
