Job summary

The SULA Program within the College of Visual and Performing Arts seeks a Part-Time Instructor to teach FIL 420 Filmmaking-Senior Project during the Spring semester, 2027. The course integrates knowledge from prior theory and practice courses, guiding students to produce an artistic film or video that demonstrates their development as artists.

Responsibilities include curriculum development, delivering lectures, maintaining office hours, and grading thesis work, with in-class and departmentally

Qualifications

• Strong career experience as either a director or in post production.
• Teaching experience in finishing thesis films a must.

Responsibilities

• Instructor will build curriculum and class instruction, have office hours, and grade participation and thesis completion.
• Developing and/or updating a class syllabus.
• Preparation of lectures, projects or other student assignments.
• Maintaining regularly scheduled office hours.
• Grading student assignments and exams in timely manner.
• Providing departmentally sanctioned forms for completed student evaluations.
• Building a positive rapport with students and other faculty.
