Job summary

Halls Kansas City at Crown Center is seeking an on-call Alterations / Tailor (Fitter Finisher) to join the Alterations department. You will perform a wide range of alterations, working with hand and machine stitching to fit customers and repair merchandise.

This role requires a high school diploma or GED and about one year of experience in high-quality alterations; weekend and extended hours may be required during holidays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 year experience in high-quality alterations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs wide variety of alterations required to fit customer requests: hand and machine work, shoulder, hem, collar, and sleeve work, sizing garments, repairs defective merchandise.
• Analyzes garments to determine alterations, reconstructs items as needed, works with special care fabrics, prices alterations according to work performed.
• Checks appointments daily and ensures garments are ready for customers at the appointed time.
• Works with team to answer questions about fitting, construction, and fabric on garments.
• Remains available for unscheduled fittings and other duties as assigned.
