Job summary

Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches is seeking a Substitute Teacher to be on-call as needed. The role supports regular teachers by stepping in on short notice and modeling professionalism for youth in care.

Responsibilities include following detailed lesson plans, supervising students, and maintaining order during transitions, while upholding safety and policy requirements. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with a drive to work flexible hours and contribute positively to the school

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent qualification.
• Experience working with youth or in a similar position is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Must follow detailed lesson plans and schedules assigned by academic teacher.
• Oversee students outside of the classroom, in hallways, and during all transition times.
• Comply with FSYR and Cooke School policy and procedures.
• Must be able to work with youth and manage classroom effectively.
• Take attendance and document pertinent behaviors on school notes.
• Ensure classroom cleanliness.
• Must be flexible with availability.
