Job summary

Naples Classical Academy is seeking substitute teachers on a per diem, on-call basis to deliver face-to-face instruction according to lesson plans when teachers are absent. Candidates must report to the school, follow plans with fidelity, and foster a safe, orderly learning environment aligned with the academy's classical curriculum and ethics.

Required is a high school diploma or equivalent; higher education is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Reports in person to the school building to provide face-to-face instruction as outlined in lesson plans provided by the absent teacher.
• Follow teaching plans with fidelity.
• Creates a classroom environment that is safe, orderly, conducive to learning, and consistent with the mission values and virtues of the school.
• Maintains established procedures of the school and classroom.
• Comply with all relevant school policies and state and federal laws and regulations.
• Adhere to the school’s dress code as outlined in the employee handbook.
• Manage a classroom in such a way as to create an atmosphere characterized by order, respect, wonder and joy.
• Cultivate good habits among students through explicit instruction and personal example.
