Job summary

Nicollet Public Schools is seeking an On-Call Substitute Assistant Cook to support the Food Services team at Nicollet Public School. The role focuses on assisting in meal service, food preparation, and daily cleaning under supervision.

Ideal applicants will be able to lift and carry kitchen items, work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, and adopt safe food-handling practices. Training will cover various kitchen tasks to maximize lunch/breakfast program operations.

Responsibilities

• Assume duties and areas of responsibility as directed by the kitchen supervisor.
• Learn as many of the kitchen jobs as practical in order to be able to fill in or assist as directed by the kitchen supervisor.
• Assist in food preparation, serving, daily or special cleaning, and other duties as assigned by the kitchen supervisor.
• Learn to operate kitchen equipment properly and to use tools in a way that is safe, efficient, sanitary, and economical of time and materials.
• Be punctual, neat, clean, and ready to work and have a good attitude toward associates and all others at work.
• Complete assigned tasks with minimum supervision.

To assist in the operation of the kitchen by efficiently completing assigned tasks and learning other jobs to maximize the operation of the lunch/breakfast program.
