Job summary

Barnesville Public Schools is seeking dependable and caring individuals to serve as substitute special education van drivers. This position helps ensure students travel safely and comfortably to school and related activities.

Schedule is as needed with a competitive hourly wage. Primary responsibilities include transporting students, assisting with entry/exit, securing seating, and maintaining professionalism with families and staff.

Qualifications

• Requires valid driver's license and ability to pass a background check.
• Dependable, patient, and committed to student safety.
• Willing to work on short notice and maintain confidentiality.
• Experience with children or individuals with disabilities is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport students according to assigned routes and schedules
• Assist students with entering and exiting the van when needed
• Ensure students are safely seated and secured before traveling
• Follow all traffic laws, district procedures, and student safety requirements
• Maintain a clean vehicle and promptly report any safety or maintenance concerns
• Communicate professionally with students, families, and school staff
