Job summary

Canal Barge Company is seeking an experienced Shore Tankerman for Baytown/Channelview, TX. The role requires on-call availability, ability to travel independently, and the capacity to work in a physically demanding environment. A U.S. Merchant Mariner's endorsement (PIC/DL) and a current TWIC are required. The candidate must reside in the Houston area and pass a pre-employment medical and drug screen.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5–10 years Shore Tankerman experience.
• 2nd Issue of License is required.
• Valid Driver’s License required.
• Able to pass background check and a physical with respirator fit test; clean shaven.
• Must live in the Houston area.

Responsibilities

• Conduct transfers of liquid cargos.
• Follow safety, environmental, and barge processes to ensure incident-free transfers.
• Inspect barges prior to transfers.
• Perform minor maintenance and repair of barges and pumps.
• Inspect all safety and transfer equipment.
• Liaise with customer dock personnel.
• Serve as first-line emergency responder.
