Job summary

Wellesley Public Schools Transportation Services in Wellesley, MA seeks a Per Diem Substitute 7D Van Driver on an on-call basis. Starting pay ranges from $23.21 to $27.29 per hour. Training for 7D license is provided; background checks and DOT screenings are required.

You will transport students safely and follow a scheduled route with supervision and care. The role demands the ability to lift up to 75 lbs, maintain a clean van, and greet students as they board and leave the vehicle.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED preferred.
• Obtain and maintain valid 7D license.
• Certified First Aid and CPR.
• Clean driving record; complete CORI/SORI, fingerprints, Federal DOT drug screen, and background checks.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; take initiative and exercise sound judgment.

Responsibilities

• Transport students on assigned routes and maintain safety.
• Obey traffic laws and keep van clean.
• Assist students getting on/off and greet them.
• Conduct circle checks before each route per 7D regulations.
• Attend safety meetings and follow district protocols.
• Load/unload food service supplies as needed.
