Job summary

Responsibilities

• Maintain a cleaning schedule for floors, chalkboards, wastebaskets, windows, furniture, equipment, and restrooms.
• Keep school building and grounds neat and clean, including sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, and play areas.
• Assist in lunchroom setup, including arranging tables and chairs.
• Perform preventive maintenance to ensure the comfort, health, and safety of students and staff.
• Regulate heat, ventilation, and air conditioning to provide appropriate temperatures.
• Move furniture or equipment within building as directed by the principal.
• Assist in setting up facilities for special events.
• Assist with opening and closing building each school day.
• Follow procedures for locking, checking, and safeguarding facilities.
• Inspect machines and equipment for safety and efficiency.
• Follow safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties, including lifting, climbing, etc.
• Report unsafe conditions in work area to supervisor immediately.
