Community Consolidated School District 146 and the City of Oak Forest Police Department are seeking on-call School Crossing Guards to assist students at designated crossings near schools. Positions are on an as-needed basis and paid through the City of Oak Forest Police Department.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Using procedures and training to stop traffic and allow children to cross safely.
• Direct children when it is safe to cross the street and when they should wait.
• Interact with children and families in a positive way.
• Report injuries, accidents, or illnesses to appropriate authority, either Police Dispatch or School Administrator.
• Report safety concerns to appropriate authority, either Police Dispatch or School Administrator.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
