Job summary

The University of Miami is seeking a Registered Nurse 1 to provide patient-family centered care in a fast-paced unit in Miami, FL. You will assess patients, implement care plans, administer medications, and collaborate with physicians to ensure safety and quality.

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and an active Florida RN license are required. One year of RN experience is preferred as you adapt to a diverse patient population and participate in continuous learning and evidence-based practice.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assesses assigned patients and evaluates plans to include documentation of nursing care.
• Reports symptoms and changes in patients’ condition and vital signs.
• Modifies patient treatment plans as indicated by patients’ responses and conditions, and physician orders.
• Reviews, evaluates, and reports diagnostic tests to assess patient’s condition.
• Consults with physicians and other healthcare professionals related to assigned patients to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans.
• Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments; consider patient age and culture; provide information regarding treatment plan; offer psychological support.
• Administers medications and maintains accurate records related to medications and treatments as per policies and physician orders.
• Communicates plan of care to patient/family and team, ensuring HIPAA compliance.
• Supports discharge planning using available resources.
• Plans and prioritizes assignments to deliver superior patient care; seeks assistance when needed.
• Adapts to changing work demands and environment.
• Operates medical equipment.
• Adheres to policies and safeguards assets.
