Job summary

Job Corps seeks a Recreation Assistant - On-Call to support the Recreation, Fitness, and Health Manager. This hourly, non-exempt role guides trainees in leisure-time activities, leadership programs, and fitness events, modeling professional standards and workplace ethics.

You will organize activities, coach teams, assist with water safety programming, and help maintain a positive, harassment-free environment.

Qualifications

• Associate of Arts degree or one year of related experience working with youth.
• Valid driver’s license in the state of employment with an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to obtain CPR/First Aid/AED certification.
• Effective communication with trainees; strong oral and written skills.

Responsibilities

• Directs trainees in leisure-time recreation and leadership programs.
• Organizes and implements recreation/non-vocational activities; promotes participation.
• Develops and operates weekly contests and tournaments.
• Coaches intramural and/or varsity teams.
• Ensures program compliance with DOL and safety practices.
• Attends required staff training; maintains a harassment-free environment.
