Job summary

LCSO Lake County Sheriff's Office seeks an Animal Enforcement Officer in Florida to enforce county ordinances on animal care and welfare. The role responds to service calls, issues citations, testifies in court, and maintains records while upholding public safety.

Under general supervision, you will patrol, investigate animal nuisance and abuse reports, assist in animal care at the shelter, and participate in on-call rotations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; one year of related education preferred.
• Preferred two years of related experience.
• Must possess Florida driver’s license and animal-control certifications.

Responsibilities

• Enforce animal care and keeping ordinances to protect public safety.
• Respond to service calls and provide professional customer service.
• Investigate nuisances and animal abuse; file charges as appropriate.
• Capture and transport animals to the shelter; assist in care.
• Be on call 24 hours per day on a rotating schedule.
