Job summary

Ross County Community Action Commission, Inc. is seeking an On-Call Part-Time Transportation Driver to provide safe, reliable non-emergency transportation for Medicaid-eligible clients to medical appointments in agency vehicles.

You will respond promptly to requests, transport clients safely, plan efficient routes, assist passengers, perform pre- and post-trip inspections, complete logs and reports, and communicate professionally with clients and healthcare partners.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to pass a drug screen and background check.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • The employee is required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and lift up to 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Responds promptly to transportation requests based on agency scheduling needs.
  • Safely transport clients while adhering to all federal, state, and local traffic laws.
  • Plan efficient travel routes while considering traffic, weather, road conditions, and client schedules.
  • Assist passengers with entering and exiting the vehicle as needed while maintaining dignity, respect, and confidentiality.
  • Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, including checking fuel levels, lights, tires, brakes, fluids, and overall vehicle condition.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe vehicle at all times.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, agency staff, healthcare providers, and partner organizations.
  • Accurately complete trip logs, mileage records, inspection reports, and other required documentation.
  • Report vehicle maintenance needs, accidents, incidents, or safety concerns promptly.

This position plays a vital role in improving access to services and delivering exceptional customer service while maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism.
