Job summary

Penske Truck Leasing seeks a qualified Hiker (Vehicle Transporter/Truck Driver) in Minot, ND. This casual, on-call role handles vehicle delivery and return of Penske trucks to locations and customers, primarily box trucks up to 26’; CDL Class A preferred for tractors/trailer work.

The position is 0–25 hours per week, with compensation based on hours worked and DOT/driver requirements. A valid Class B CDL is required, and 2 years of driving with a clean DMV record is expected.

Qualifications

• 2 years of driving experience
• 2 years of a clean DMV motor vehicle record
• Valid Class B CDL required. Applicants must be domiciled in the U.S. and licensed in their state of residence
• CDL Class A license preferred
• Ability to read and follow written instructions is required
• Ability to work independently, customer service skills, organizational skills, and a positive attitude are required
• DOT regulations require English proficiency and a current driver qualification file
• Willingness to travel as necessary and pass background checks/drug screening

Responsibilities

• Follow safety procedures while driving trucks to Penske locations or customer sites
• Check vehicles to ensure mechanical and safety equipment are in working order and report issues
• Obtain receipts or signatures for delivered goods and collect payment when required
• Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to vehicles
• Perform other projects as assigned by supervisor
