Job summary
Bonneville International is seeking a Fill In (On call) Journalist – Anchor/Editor/Writer to produce and deliver compelling news across broadcast and digital spaces from our Seattle site. The role requires independent, deadline-driven work and collaboration with news and talk teams to create engaging stories for MyNorthwest.com and on-air broadcasts.
The ideal candidate will have a four-year journalism degree and 3+ years of experience in news editing/producing and reporting, with strong writing
Qualifications
- Four-year degree in journalism or related communications field.
- Three+ years in news editing/producing, anchoring, and reporting.
- Familiarity with local issues and political dynamics.
Responsibilities
- Produce accurate and engaging news content for over-the-air and online, including enterprise interviews and stories.
- Ensure high accuracy in news reporting while upholding the station's branding.
- Record, edit, and mix audio to meet deadlines.
- Write brief, factual, and compelling newscasts, updates, and traffic reports and deliver them live on air.
- Work quickly and efficiently, handling breaking news with composure.
- Identify and secure interviews with guests and newsmakers; build a robust network of sources.
- Maintain proficiency with technical systems relevant to multimedia broadcasting.
