Job summary

Ohana Child Development Center at Bandwidth Raleigh is seeking substitute teachers for part-time hours (10–30 per month) to step in for classroom coverage. The role involves caretaking using Montessori/RIE approaches, adapting to dynamic schedules, and maintaining safety and cleanliness in a licensed environment.

Ideal candidates are 18+, with a high school diploma or GED, and a willingness to learn Montessori/RIE methods.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• Willingness to learn Montessori/RIE practices.
• Training provided: background check, CPR/First Aid, Safe Sleep, Maltreatment awareness, TB screening, and health questionnaire.

Responsibilities

• Managing physical care of children (including diapering and toileting) using Montessori and RIE techniques.
• Adapt to changing environments, accept feedback, and take appropriate action.
• Flexible to daily Center demands, including hours and room assignments.
• Ensure daily care and safety following licensing guidelines.
• Maintain a safe, clean, organized classroom environment.
• Model pro-social behavior and redirect children as needed.
• Build respectful relationships with families, children, and co-teachers from diverse backgrounds.
• Communicate important information to co-teachers about children and classroom needs.
• Maintain a professional self-image and reflect Ohana and Bandwidth values.
• Complete required trainings and certifications; be available on call; hours may vary.
