Job summary

The position requires journeyman HVAC experience, an apprentice program or equivalent training, and the ability to read blueprints and use test instrumentation. The incumbent will supervise technicians and ensure compliance with codes and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Completion of an apprentice program including course work in air conditioning/refrigeration, or equivalent training.
• Extensive experience as a journeyman HVAC mechanic.
• Knowledge of blueprints, schematics and repair manuals.
• Knowledge of electrical systems and diagnostics.
• Valid Virginia driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Monitors and maintains refrigeration equipment.
• Monitors and maintains HVAC controls in the system.
• Insures completion of required documentation.
• Performs preventive maintenance and emergency work orders as workload dictates.
• Complies with all policies and procedures and with local, state and federal regulations.
• Reads and interprets blueprints and schematics as necessary.
• Performs work in compliance with applicable codes and standards.
• Is on call for emergencies as needed.
