Job summary

LocumTenens.com is seeking a general surgery MD for a 24-hour call assignment in Virginia. The position spans inpatient and outpatient settings with on-site coverage and hotel accommodations provided for each assignment.

Responsibilities include 24-hour on-call duties (7 a.m. to 7 a.m.), rapid phone response within 30 minutes, and in-person availability within one hour. Privileges include central lines, various surgeries, and procedures as listed, with case-logs required for competency.

Qualifications

• Privileges include central lines, appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colectomy, colonoscopy, EGD, emergency surgery stabilization for transfer, biopsy/I&D, hemorrhoidectomy, hernia repair, port-a-cath placement, small bowel cases, thoracentesis, chest tube placement, and assisting GYN surgeons with hysterectomies as needed.

Responsibilities

• Competency must be demonstrated through case logs from the past two years.
• The clinician must provide 24-hour call coverage from 7 a.m. to 7 a.m., respond by phone within 30 minutes, and be available in person within one hour.
