Job summary

WSP in the U.S. seeks a biologist to support environmental projects in the San Francisco area. Responsibilities include collecting and compiling observational and spatial data on vegetation, wetlands, wildlife, and other species, along with basic ecological assessments and report documentation.

The role requires 1–3 years of field experience, GIS and Trimble GPS proficiency, and familiarity with environmental laws and safety procedures. Travel to project sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management, or related field.
• 1–3 years of experience as a biologist with biological surveys and fieldwork.
• Experience with GIS software and Trimble GPS units for data collection.
• Analytical biology skills and knowledge of local/regional ecology and habitats.
• Familiarity with environmental laws, regulations, and record-keeping.

Responsibilities

• Assist with collecting and compiling observational and spatial data for vegetation, wetlands, wildlife, and related species.
• Maintain quality control standards for measurements and statistical analysis of environmental data.
• Assist with basic biology work and provide technical support on environmental issues.
• Contribute to preparation of technical reports and documentation using field notes and software.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and site procedures, including equipment calibration and inventory control.
• Support cross-functional teams and field work permitting efforts.
• Complete training on assigned tasks and comply with company policies.
