Job summary

KVC Camber Children's Mental Health in Wichita, KS is seeking a Maintenance Worker to keep our facilities safe, functional, and welcoming. You will perform a range of hands-on tasks, including drywall repair, painting, basic plumbing, electrical work, and routine upkeep to support patient care.

This role requires independence, reliability, and the ability to work indoors/outsides. A valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Must be 20 years of age or older to apply.
• Completion of at least 10th grade; HS diploma or GED preferred
• Valid driver’s license and auto insurance
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen, physical, and background check
• Ability to perform physical requirements, including lifting and moving materials/equipment
• Basic hands-on trade and maintenance skills
• Ability to participate in an on-call rotation for urgent facility needs
• Related experience or training preferred (1–3 months in maintenance, construction, facilities, or related field)

Responsibilities

• Repair drywall, patch walls, and paint.
• Troubleshoot and repair basic plumbing issues (pipes, fixtures, leaks)
• Perform minor electrical repairs
• Repair doors, windows, furniture, fences, and other items
• Build shelves and functional items
• Handle grounds upkeep, snow removal, and minor exterior repairs
• Respond to urgent facility issues as part of on-call rotation
• Identify maintenance problems before they escalate
• Complete other maintenance and facility-related duties as needed
