This position provides safe, reliable, and friendly transportation for seniors, driving them to and from meal programs, medical appointments, social outings, and other essential activities that support their independence and connection to the community.

Most of the duties performed in this position are transportation related. The employee will be both indoors and outdoors assisting senior citizens to and from vehicles to their respective appointments as well as delivering monthly food assistant boxes in a variety of weather conditions. The employee may be exposed to snow, sleet, rain, and other adverse weather conditions while assisting senior citizens.

Notice of Emergency/Disaster Responsibilities
All Lake County Employees may be required to work as a Disaster Service Worker when a local declaration of emergency or disaster is declared by the Board of County Commissioners. To be prepared for this role, all employees and emergency service function (ESF) leads will attend emergency management trainings and exercises as requested by the Director of Emergency Management. With advanced notification from OEM, employees will make reasonable efforts to attend training events in coordination with other employees and supervisors.
