Job summary

Cadient, LLC seeks an On-Call Direct Support Professional (DSP) for our Hoyt residence near Port Ewen, NY. You will support six residents in a cheerful home, assisting with daily activities and community outings, including crafts, shopping, and social events.

Starting salary ranges from $18.56 to $20.42 per hour. The role offers on-call/as-needed hours, with training provided such as Van Certification, SCIP, First Aid/CPR, and Medication Administration certification.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED is desired.
• Post-high-school education in Human Services is a definite plus.
• An acceptable NYS driver's license and basic computer knowledge are a must.

Responsibilities

• Provide support and skills training to people with developmental and intellectual disabilities in a residential setting and within the community.
• Assist residents with daily living activities and community outings, including shopping, movies, and meals.
• Engage residents in crafts, parties, music, and social activities; help plan and participate in daily routines.

The Direct Support Professional (DSP)provides support and skills training to people with developmental and intellectual disabilities in a residential setting and within the community.

Our Hoyt residence, conveniently located in Port Ewen – just outside of Kingston, is the bright and cheerful home to six ladies and one gentleman.

This home, with views of the beautiful Hudson River, has a large back deck where everyone can enjoy cookouts and fun outdoor activities. The people who live at Hoyt love to be out and about, and around town – which means that as an employee, you may find yourself on a trip to the movie theater or enjoying the fare at a local restaurant.

The ladies and gentleman at Hoyt really do enjoy craft projects, and love the staff to be involved! They also love to go shopping, plan parties and play music.
