Substitute Custodian/Maintenance

Job Description:

• General maintenance as required
• Cleanrestroomsand/orshowers,includingstockingbathroomwithadequate.
• Emptywasteandothermaterials(e.g.,garbage,linen,recyclablematerials, cigarettebutt,ashes,hazardouswaste)intopropercontainersforcleaning, recycling,ordisposal.
• Cleanfloorand/orstairsurfacesusingdesignatedchemicals,supplies,andequipment(e.g.,brooms,mops,buffers,vacuums,wetvacuum,extractor, shampoomachine,stainremover).
• Cleanglass(e.g.,windows,mirrors)byremovingdust,spots,andsmears.•Cleanandmaintainlightsbywipinglamps,lightfixtures,andlightswitches,checkingthattheyareinproperworkingcondition,andreportingburnt outbulbs.
• Straightenandreturnfurnitureanddrapes/blindstocorrectpositionaftercleaning.
• Dustandcleansurfaces(e.g.,walls,furniture,fixtures,woodwork,pictures,phones,vendingmachines,elevators,fireextinguisherboxes,exitsigns,andair vents).
• Returncleaningcarttodesignatedareaattheendofshift.
• Restockcleaningcartwithdesignatedsuppliesattheendofshift.
• Transportcleaningcarttoassignedareaandpositionsecurely,followingproceduresforcartpositioning.
• Buff,polish,andstripfloorsusingheavyequipment.
• Polishfurniture,equipment,railings,andotherhardsurfaces(e.g.,brass,stainlesssteel) usingtheappropriatechemicalsforeachsurface.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS:
Position requires knowledge of cleaning and maintenance with the ability to work independently.
