Job summary

Connecticut College is seeking a custodial staff member to maintain building cleanliness, including dusting, mopping, carpet care, and restroom upkeep. Responsibilities include following work orders, operating cleaning equipment, and assisting with safety practices on campus.

The role requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, work independently, and interact professionally with students, staff, and visitors. Applicants may be subject to credentialing checks as part of the hiring process.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift/push/pull 50 pounds.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• Ability to read work orders and follow safety procedures.
• Able to work independently with little direction.
• Able to interact with a diverse campus community.

Responsibilities

• Dust, sweep, mop and vacuum floors; strip and wax floors as needed.
• Clean restrooms and restock paper and soap supplies.
• Empty trash and dispose of waste properly.
• Set up rooms for functions using work orders.
• Assist with cleaning equipment maintenance and supplies inventory.
