Job summary

SBM Management Services, LP in Sunnyvale, CA is seeking an On-Call Custodian to maintain cleanliness and safety in assigned areas. This part-time role involves following the daily schedule, operating cleaning equipment, and assisting with hazardous waste tasks as required.

No formal education is required; 3–6 months of training or experience is preferred. A valid driver's license and safety certifications may be needed.

Qualifications

• No specific education requirement, 3-6 months training or experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• May be required to have a valid driver’s license. Completed all safety and task training certification. May be required to be forklift certified.
• Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use; ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.

Responsibilities

• Perform janitorial duties.
• Perform all duties listed on the daily schedule.
• Perform Hazardous Waste responsibilities including collecting, classifying, sorting, storing, shipping and receiving, labeling, cleaning, recycling, packaging of special and hazardous waste.
• Operate motorized cleaning equipment.
• Maintain daily upkeep of assigned area.
• Report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor.
• Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures.
• Stop at risk behavior of others and self.
• Perform work assignments in a team with other employees.
• Perform repetitive tasks.
• Maintain clean work area.
• Follow all protocols, company procedures, policies, and rules.
• Take direction and respond to supervision.
• Talk with lead, supervisor, co-workers, managers, and customers in a professional manner.
• Fill in during staff shortage.
• Support shift lead in completing punch-list items.
• Use proper personal protective equipment.
• Present a professional appearance and conduct.
• Understand customer service and satisfaction.
• Understand reporting systems, and of the environment
